Stunning.... Lake Tahoe Wedding captured by Jose Villa

This Lake Tahoe wedding showcased on style me pretty stopped us in our tracks. They dedicated a whole day in homage of the jaw-dropping details, beautiful bride & groom, stunning venue and whimsical decor!  Of course, the ever-awe-inspiring Jose Villa was there to capture it all.  Interestingly enough, the bride too is a photographer, KT Merry.
Take a peek and see if you fall as hard as we did...

We could go on (and on, and ON) about the decadent details but you would then be entrenched in a novel.  Suffice it to say, barn weddings are a dream and so are moss covered letters and big blooms and string lights, and circular ceremony sites and ruffles and... Sigh.  You catch our drift.

Have a beautiful Tuesday, friends.

The World of Hair Adornments

We have been melting for headpieces lately.  Extravagant bows, large silk blooms, miniature sparkling crystals, beading, the list goes on and on!  Not for the timid fashionista, these gorgeous pieces add an element of drama to an outfit and can make it much more captivating, memorable and formal.
Here are some samples of our very most favorites!

Firstly, Lo Boheme created a delicate and luscious line for Spring/Summer 2011.

Twigs and Honey is another delightful maker of this beautiful ornaments for the head.  We love that Myra creates a versatile line for ladies seeking just about anything in a headpiece.  Her creations are both whimsical & dainty and absolutely B.E.A.U.tiful!

A personal fave - how amazing would this be for perhaps a 50s-Themed engagement party?!

They also design whimical hairpieces for your bridal party!  Precious, right?

BHLDN, the most recent to reveal a line of hair adornments, has really gone all out with a collection that makes it impossible to choose only one favorite.

What's your vote?  Will you wear a headpiece to weddings you're attending this summer?  What about wedding festivities?  Not to fret, it is not too late to find your perfect trimming, however, many shops require 7+ weeks so the deadline is fast approaching!

What a question to start off the week!  You may decide by Friday...

Kim Kardashian is Engaged... Big time!

When we heard about Kim Kardashian's 20.5 carat engagement ring, we thought no way! But when we saw the 16.5 carat emerald cut diamond flanked by two 2 carat trapezoids our jaws almost fell off!  Bonkers.

Unheard of right?!  Well alas, it is true but we're not sure if walking around with diamond the size of a quarter on your finger would be that comfortable.......kidding!

What do you think friends?  Is a ring that, ahem, sizable appealing or totally tacky?

Enjoy your Friday!

Magical Theme for a Magical Evening!

This wedding was spotted eons ago on Green Wedding Shoes and it's truly unforgettable: an old world carnival theme in what really becomes an enchanted forest!  Carlie & Gabriel of Gabriel Ryan Photography were flown in to capture it all.  The images speak for themselves so we'll let them take over at this point but REALLY, just.you.wait!

Sister-in-law of the bride is Carissa of JL Designs & Events who pulled it all off to a 't'.  The details are all covered with such tact it' rematkable.  Doesn't it look as though you stepped into the set of a movie?

There's so much that went into this incredible day and theme and atmosphere! What a mystical event!
Even the flowers suit it so very perfectly.  The right amount of old school charm and glamour in the dark, rich, red-wine purple flowers juxtaposed perfectly with soft sage dripping over the vases.  And THEN the charming mystical elements like the feathers of all sorts in there!  Thank goodness sissy-in-law does floral AND event design!

The games & all of the props were beyond.  Come on!  The popcorn, adorable, but in the vintage drawers too?!  You're killing us here (with delight)!  Icing on the cake?  A fire-blower!

How fun was this?!  The photo of her pops above is stellar!

Of course, no event this elaborate & detailed can be done by only one soul, no matter how geared up for the challenge they are!  The father of the bride, for example, hand made all the beautiful ceremony benches, the lovely signage & elements to hang it - even the contraptions to hang the umbrellas & have the lights aglow all evening!  What a star.

Applause necessary.

Have a wonderful Friday, friends.

A Decadent Dress

Today we wanted to show you a beautiful dress that inspires us completely.

The almost raw beauty of the ruffles or tulle.  The antique-like coloring.  It's beautiful, don't you think?

The dress is Monique Lhuillier, not surprisingly!
The bride's hair is pretty awesome too, I think!

This photo of him kissing her little toe is scrumptious.
Oh, bliss.
